My name is Myra Bohnen. I was born in the Netherlands and now live and work in the quiet forests of Sweden.
With a background in graphic design, my work is shaped by a strong sense of composition, balance, and visual tension. Over time, painting became a natural extension - a way to move beyond structure and into something more intuitive.
In my work, I explore the relationship between form and color. Shapes emerge, interact, and settle into a balance that feels both deliberate and open. I’m drawn to the space where control and freedom meet.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, I build my paintings in layers, allowing the process to unfold over time. Each piece develops in its own rhythm.
My work invites stillness - a moment to slow down, to look, and to experience.
