This painting began on a spring morning, sitting in the garden, when I felt the first warm breeze of the year. That moment - light, moving, almost unnoticed - stayed with me.
I didn’t start with a fixed structure. Instead, I followed that sense of movement. The surface built up through small, repeated gestures, creating something that feels both dense and open at the same time.
The warmer tones give it a grounded presence, while softer areas keep it from becoming fixed. It moves gently between those states.
For me, this work holds that first shift in the air - something subtle, but unmistakable.
